A mascot for reading

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Phillie Phanatic is fired up about reading.

Our furry friend couldn't contain his excitement about a home run hit by students at the Saint Matthew school in Northeast Philadelphia.

They are all reading 15 minutes a day, something his reading program encourages.

Saint Matthew is among the tops for literacy in our area.
