African American History Oratorical Competition

GRAY'S FERRY (WPVI) -- Students harnessed the power of words in a unique competition Friday afternoon.

Students in Grades 3 through 8 at Universal Family of Schools took part in this year's African American History Oratorical Competition.

The event was held in Philadelphia's Gray's Ferry section.

Some of the competitors could barely reach the microphone, but they all spoke eloquently.
