John Frye was sworn in tonight as police chief after serving as acting chief since last summer

WYNCOTE, Pa. (WPVI) -- Cheltenham Township now a new top cop.

John Frye was sworn in tonight as police chief after serving as acting chief since last summer.

The ceremony was held at Curtis Hall in Wyncote.

Frye started with the department in 1995 and rose through the ranks to Deputy Chief by 2015.

He takes the place of Chief John Norris who retired last year.
