Chester man celebrates 90th birthday with special church performance

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Chester man celebrated turning 90-years-young by captivating a crowd - and social media - with his infectious smile and golden voice.

Solomon Johnson donned a crown for his special day. He's been singing in his church, Bethany Baptist, in Chester since he was 10-years-old.

That's 80 years of his passionate song resonating through the pews.

He has 3 children, 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

For his birthday, he did what he does every Sunday, he sang. But this time he sang "In the Garden" and his granddaughter Brittany Wilson shared the sweet moment.
