TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Mercer County and the City of Trenton are accepting First Lady Michelle Obama's challenge to end veteran homelessness in 2015.
With help from non-profits and other organizations, Trenton mayor Eric Jackson said at a news conference Tuesday morning the city will commit resources and personnel to find homes for all of the 79 homeless veterans currently identified in Mercer County.
64 of those veterans have been housed already and officials say they are confident that by the end of the year they can place the remaining 15 in safe, secure housing.
