Donate Life Month gets started at CHOP

UNIVERSITY CITY (WPVI) -- The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is pushing more people to register as organ donors.

The Action Cam was at CHOP Wednesday where hospital officials and executives from Gift of Life Donor Program kicked off Donate Life Month.

More than 121 thousand Americans are waiting for organ donations, including 84 kids at CHOP.

Each person who signs up to donate can potentially save 8 lives.

Several children who have received transplants were at Wednesday's event with their families in hopes of encouraging more people to register.
