Halloween came one day early in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and it was a fine time for the young and the young at heart.

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (WPVI) -- No tricks but lots of treats at Spring Hills Assisted Living Facility in Cherry Hill - and there were plenty of familiar characters.

Spiderman, Minnie Mouse and even a runaway Christmas Elf. The gang was all here as children suited up in costume for some Halloween fun with residents.

3-year-old Massimo Dellicarpini came as Mater.

"He's from Cars 2 - the movie, because he's a tow truck," said Massimo.

Residents admired the costumes and were prepared with candy for these little trick-or-treaters, though some took matters into their own hands.

The Mom's Club of Cherry Hill West, Haddonfield, Haddon Township and Collingswood helped organize this event with their children and the Halloween spirit spread quickly.

"It's the little smiles on their faces," said Mary Lou Cook.

"I guess it brings me back for when I used to take my kids out," said Sharon Steinberg.

"I think it's fun for everyone, our kids love it and some of us are transplants and our kids aren't around their grandparents so it's fun for them," said Aimee Bucci.

As the treat bags filled up, the candy was certainly hard to resist. Some had intentions of waiting to dive in - with mixed success.

"When these little kids come in, it just automatically puts a light to your face," said Carole Karen.

The kids got a little practice for trick or treating on Halloween and everyone left here with a smile.
