A trip to traffic court had an unexpected and happy outcome for a 70-year-old woman in Wisconsin.

Nancy Mahoney was there to try and get her $175 speeding ticket reduced.

She told the judge her finances were strained and she would have trouble paying the fine.

That's when a fellow traffic court defendant stepped in and offered to give Nancy $100 toward her citation.

Mahoney said she was choked up by the unexpected kindness from a stranger.

"I just stood there and cried," she said. "I didn't know. . . I just kept saying, 'Thank you,' and 'Are you sure?' It choked people up."

The Good Samaritan wants to remain anonymous.

But the man's good deed was repaid.

When the judge found out what he had done, he ordered the man's own fine dismissed.
