Homeless man uses cash to feed others

A California man thought he'd conduct a kind of social experiment, but never could have guessed how it would play out.

Josh Lin gave a homeless man $100 cash, then watched and filmed to see what the recipient of his generosity would do with it.

Moments later, he was saddened to see the man walk into a liquor store.

Only the homeless man didn't come out with booze, but rather with food instead.

The man then went directly to a neighborhood park to give the food out to others who, like him, were in need.

"There's a lot of people who are a victim of circumstance, and they didn't go homeless because they're late. It could be a divorce and one thing leads to another, a man sells his boat or his home and all of a sudden he's got no money," said the homeless man.

"There's a lot of good people that are homeless," he said.

Josh was so stunned by this act of generosity that he put the man up in a hotel and launched a fundraiser to get him back on his feet.

So far it has raised more than $72,000.
