NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- A life-saving program in Delaware is making an appeal for desperately needed donations and volunteers.
Tom Martin is a volunteer with New Castle County's Senior Roll Call Lifeline. The free program makes daily calls to area seniors to check on their well-being.
Just last week, the free program identified two senior citizens in need of medical assistance, including a 90 year old woman who didn't answer when Martin repeatedly called.
He dispatched police who found that she had fallen and was unable to call for help.
The program is supported by volunteers and more are desperately needed. To enroll in the program or to register to be a volunteer, call the New Castle County Police Community Services Senior Roll Call Lifeline at (302)395-8159, or visit: http://nccde.org/478/Police-Senior-Roll-Call-Lifeline-Program
