GLENSIDE (WPVI) -- A local service member and life-long Eagles fan will be honored at the big game.

Navy Lieutenant Commander Chris Napierkowski of Glenside, will be honored as the Dietz and Watson's Hometown Hero.

The helicopter pilot is currently serving as a Navy Recruiter in Northeast Philadelphia.

He says he is thankful for the honor and has no doubt the Eagles can pull out the win.

"I think come Sunday the Vikings, their fans and people around the country will realize these dogs do bite and that we're going to get our chance and we're going to be in Minnesota in two weeks for the Super Bowl," says Napierkowski.

The Lieutenant, who grew up in Bridesburg, says being named a Hometown Hero was completely unexpected.

He's taking his wife and two best friends to the game with him. Its his way of thanking them for supporting his 20-year military career.
