KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (WPVI) -- A young man in King of Prussia didn't let cerebral palsy stop him from earning the rank of Eagle Scout.

20-year-old Christian Matkovich carried on his family tradition on Sunday.

Christian has been in scouting since first grade.

He passed his verbal review for this rank using electronic speech, and completed his project - collecting and organizing school supplies for kids in developing nations.

His mother says one of the biggest hurdles was in convincing others - even scout officials - that he could do it.

"It's so difficult for some people to get past the wheelchair. They see somebody in a wheelchair, and think their mind doesn't work either," said Mary Matkovich.

Thanks to technology and good support, Christian now joins his two brothers who are also Eagle Scouts.
