Sam Maccarone and Jessica Burzichelli met as fifth graders in Gibbstown, N.J. when they were just 10 years old. According to Burzichelli, it was "a playground crush that evolved into true love."

When Maccarone decided it was time to pop the question, he reached out to their friends to help plan a proposal Burzichelli would never forget. Along with musician Matty Mac and video producer Domenick Cucinotta, he crafted a plan to shoot a music video that would take Burzichelli across Philadelphia and end with them celebrating their love surrounded by family and friends.

Maccarone and Burzichelli had helped Cucinotta make music videos in the past, so it wasn't an unusual request for them to be the featured couple in a video for Mac's newest love song. What Burzichelli didn't know was that the song, called "The Proposal," had been written just for her.

The day began at the landmark LOVE Park in Philadelphia. They played a fake song through the takes to keep Burzichelli in the dark about the song and video's true intent. When they were ready to film the final take of the last scene at their favorite restaurant, where members of Burzichelli were conveniently also serving as extras, Mac switched to the real song, singing "Tell me you'll love me until our final days, 'cause I've been hoping that you'll marry me someday."

"This whole day has been about you," Maccarone reveals to an emotional Burzichelli in the video, before asking for her hand in marriage.

"I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day and I am incredibly lucky to be marrying such a thoughtful and loving man," Burzichelli told ABC via email. "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him!"

Almost two million people have viewed the video of Maccarone's proposal since Mac posted it to YouTube last month. Mac told ABC the response to the video has been incredible.

"The craziest part in all of this is that only reason Sam wanted to capture this moment on video was so they could relive it for the rest of their lives," Mac said. "He wanted something for them so that they could show their children and grandchildren."
