TAYLOR, Pa. -- An elderly veteran is reminding everyone that there is really no timeline for achieving your dreams.

World War II veteran, George Fricovsky, finally got his high school diploma - 72 years after leaving school.

Fricovsky was back at Riverside High School in Taylor, Lackawanna County and the so-called graduation ceremony was a surprise planned by his family.

The 90-year-old welled up with tears as the school's principal, David Walsh, handed him his diploma.

It just so happens, Walsh is his grandson.

"I was really surprised, I never expected this," said George.

George said he celebrated his achievement by singing karaoke - one of his favorite hobbies.
