Preview weekend for Philadelphia's Christmas Village cancelled

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- The preview weekend for the Christmas Village in Center City Philadelphia has been cancelled.

The attraction was set to be open on November 18 and 19, but organizers say the recent inclement weather has impacted construction at Love Park, where the village is being set up.

Christmas Village in Philadelphia President Thomas Bauer said in a statement he was disappointed, but added, "Our team has been working hard to bring you the quality authentic German Christmas Market experience you have come to know and love."

He went on to say Christmas Village will still officially open as planned on Thanksgiving Day.

Bauer also said there are many new surprises in store for the 10th anniversary season.
