Recalling the battle for civil rights
Employees and visitors at Burlington County courthouse hear a firsthand account of civil rights history

MT HOLLY, N.J. (WPVI) -- Employees and visitors at Burlington County courthouse Friday had a chance to hear a firsthand account of a seminal moment in civil rights history.

Bobby Battle was one of the first to take part in the sit-ins at the Woolworth lunch counter in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1960.

At the time, the restaurant had a "whites only" policy.

The sit-in started with four men.

By the third day, more than 300 people joined in.

The protest spread to lunch counters throughout the nation.
