"Restorative Justice Conference" at Villanova University
Local leaders, educators and members of the community gathered to talk about a new approach to combat crime

VILLANOVA, Pa. (WPVI) -- Local leaders, educators and members of the community gathered Friday to talk about a new approach to combat crime in Philadelphia.

The "Restorative Justice Conference" was held at Villanova University.

They talked about some ideas on how to repair the harm caused by crime with the hope it will prevent it from happening again.

One idea discussed was to encourage victims and offenders to meet.

Another was to engage victims and offenders in the community by joining projects like painting murals.
