CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- With the democratic national convention coming to Philadelphia this summer, don't be surprised to see a certain animal around town over the next few months.

More than 50 painted, fiberglass, donkeys, will be scattered throughout the city, to drum up excitement for the convention.

Former Pennsylvania governor and top democrat Ed Rendell unveiled a special Pennsylvania donkey, at a news conference.

The donkey has been the political symbol of the democratic party, since the 19th century.

The democratic convention will be held the last week of July.
