Teen asks grandma to prom, school says no

ALABAMA (WPVI) -- Bryce Maine said he wanted to take his grandmother as his date because she never got a chance to go to her own prom.

But his high school in Alabama is saying no.

Catherine Maine, or Nanny as Bryce calls her, was really looking forward to going next month. She even picked out a dress.

Bryce said, "My grandmother has always been an important part, a figure in my life, so why not take her. She means the world to me."

Nanny adds, "He means the world to me. I saw him born and I raised him up."

A meeting has been set between school officials and Bryce's family. Hopefully they will change their mind.
