The weather was perfect for everyone watching the Tall Ships make their way up the Delaware.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- It's been 15 years since the tall ships sailed into our harbor, and on Thursday that majestic sight returned.

The largest fleet of tall ships in America set sail on the Delaware River, with the world's largest rubber ducky floating alongside it.

Ryan Whaley is the communications director for the event. He explains, "This is actually the biggest collaboration of tall ships on the East Coast this year."

More than a dozen towering beauties made their way up the river in a procession titled "A Parade of Ships".

One of ships, Hindu, was built in 1925. She lives in Key West, Florida.

Our own Karen Rogers got a tour of El Galeon - a 170 foot, 495 ton wooden beauty who also docks in Florida, but is owned by a Spanish foundation.

Rosario Fernandez Rodgriquez, Captain of El Galeon, says, "This is the only one sailing like this around the world."

The visiting vessels come from all over the world.

Like L'Hermione, a replica of the French naval ship famous for carrying the Marquis de Lafayette into the Revolutionary War in 1780.

And then of course there's Mama Duck, the world's largest rubber duck. She stands 61 feet tall and weighs 11 tons. She will be hanging out on the New Jersey side.
