WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- A major home renovation project is underway in Wilmington all for the benefit of a 12-year-old boy.

Derek Baumann is a happy and active young man who was born with cerebral palsy and also lives with a variety of other medical conditions.

Those issues had him confined to one bedroom on the first floor of his family's house, with no access to a bathroom, shower, or tub.

So, a group called the ATI Foundation stepped in to help, raising money to given him a brand new bathroom and living space.

The project was first pegged at $10,000, but ballooned to $38,000 - much of which some local vendors chipped in to help out with.

Derek and his family say they are overwhelmed by the kindness.
