Women's Humane Society Trailblazer Award

MERION STATION, Pa. (WPVI) -- Former Philadelphia District Attorney Lynne Abraham was honored Thursday night for one of her lesser known endeavors.

Abraham was presented with the first Trailblazer Award from the Women's Humane Society.

Organizers say, during her time in office, Abraham was dedicated to ensuring that laws to protect animals were enforced.

The event took place at the Merion Tribute House.
