76ers break team record for season tickets, expect to sell out at home

With visions of Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz playing together, Philadelphia 76ers fans are lining up to buy tickets.

Sales have spiked since Saturday, since news of their trade with the Boston Celtics to acquire the No. 1 pick in Thursday's draft. The Sixers have sold a franchise-record 14,000 season tickets for 2017-18 and expect to sell out all of their home games.

"Fortunately we're able to break the Sixers' all-time record for season-ticket memberships," Sixers chief sales and marketing officer Christopher Heck told CSNPhilly.com. "That is a testament to the strong fandom that we believe not only is this a true sports town, but it's a basketball town."

With management preaching patience, the Sixers have been quietly increasing their season-ticket sales. During the summer of 2013, they sold 3,400 season tickets. Last season, almost 10,000. And now, 14,000.

They're first in the league in new full-season ticket packages.

"To see what's going on right now is something we've experienced over the last, really, four years that started with the most loyal fans, with season-ticket holders," Heck said.
