PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia 76ers introduced #1 overall NBA draft pick Markelle Fultz to the city on Friday.

The team rolled out the welcome mat for the 19-year-old, and other draft picks, at their training complex in Camden, New Jersey.

"I just want to say this is truly an honor to come here. I've been through a lot growing up, so I'm looking forward to coming to the city and giving my all," Fultz said.

The Washington guard let the PAC-12 in scoring, finished 6th among all Division 1 players, and was the top freshman scorer in the country.

The team believes his play is just what "The Process" needs.

"When you've got a pass-first facilitator like Ben, you're going to look for people who can score the basketball around him, that's this guy right here," said 76ers President Bryan Colangelo. "He can score in a variety of ways. We're going to be a fun, energetic, entertaining team."

A dynamic shooter. A playmaker. An athlete.

And the kid also knows his cheesesteaks, revealing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night he already has a local spot.

Jimmy asked Markelle if he likes Pat's or Geno's. The answer?

"I've been going to Larry's," he said.

The shoutout was heard all the way in Wynnefield, where the team at Larry's was busy serving up hot steaks.

"He should come to say hello," said Alexander Luk of Larry's. "If he loves Larry's, Larry's loves him right back!"

As for fans, they were still buzzing. Many believe Markelle will be a perfect fit as the team develops its core.

"This will be the next Doctor J. We need someone like that in Philadelphia," said John Petracci of West Deptford, NJ.

"I'm glad we've got young talent in the city, he's going to bring excitement to the city, put fans in the seats," said Mark Dawson of West Philadelphia.

"He's the best player coming out of the draft, hands down, period!" said Gary King of North Philadelphia.

With all this excitement, reporters wanted to know how he spent his night on Thursday.

Markelle said he "got some sleep."
