MARLTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Soccer star Carli Lloyd was honored Wednesday at the very facility where she trained for several years in Marlton, New Jersey.

The young soccer fans started lining up hours in advance.

"I really wanted to see her," said Ava Koltd.

"I just wanted to see her so bad because she's just such a role model," said Mikaela Schmidt.

They all came to the Blue Barn Recreation Center in Marlton - a place where Lloyd trained for many years.

It's the same place these young soccer players train today.

"Makes me feel like if I practice hard that I can be a World Cup player too," said Kathyrn Caminske.

"It just makes me believe that I could go that far," said Megan Schweiker.

When Lloyd arrived, it wasn't just to screaming fans, she was also given a few honors.

Marlton Mayor Randy Brown gave Lloyd and her trainer their very own key to the Blue Barn so they can come back whenever they want.

He also announced that the very court she trained on for years has now been named after her.

"I know I'm on top of the world right now. There will be another obstacle to face and I know in my heart and I never will doubt that I can get through anything," said Lloyd.

Lloyd talked to the young athletes about dreaming big, working hard and finding a way to persevere.

She also took countless photos, despite her busy schedule, saying she is thankful that she gets the chance to be a role model for these young kids.

"I'm still the same Carli that grew up in Delran and has been playing soccer in New Jersey," said Lloyd.

"When people are nice like that it's really cool," said Megan Wisenauer.

Lloyd's visit will leave a lasting memory with her fans and continue to give inspiration to the next generation of soccer superstars.
