SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- At Big Charlie's Saloon on Saturday, Kansas City fans were talking playoffs and the Eagles new head coach in South Philadelphia.

"Good hire. It's perfect. It makes sense to me," said Jay Johnson.

"I think it's good for them. If he comes from Kansas City, it's gotta be good," said Domenick Beradi.

As fans watched the Chiefs play the Patriots, many praised their offensive coordinator, Doug Pederson, and think he's just what the Eagles need.

"I think he deserves it. He was a great pick for Kansas City, obviously. Great offensive coordinator," said Anthony Mazzone.

The former quarterback turned coach has worked under former Eagles head coach Andy Reid for years, leaving some questioning whether he's experienced enough.

"I kind of think it's a bonehead move by the Eagles to hire him because I don't know how much he has to do with calling the plays," said Chris Seay.

"What are we doing talking about Pederson for? We should be talking about Kansas City Chiefs," said Michael Emma. "Let Pederson do good for Kansas City first, then we'll worry about the Eagles down the line."
