'Concussion' doctor says youth football is 'child abuse'
'Concussion' doctor says youth football is child abuse: Alicia Vitarelli reports during Action News at 4:30 p.m. on August 10, 2017.

The doctor who inspired the movie "Concussion" is now calling youth football "child abuse."

Dr. Bennet Omalu is credited with discovering CTE, or chronic trauma from concussions.

He now says, through his research, that he believes letting anyone under 18 years old play football should be considered child abuse.

He's studied brains and the effects of concussions, adding he doesn't believe there is any way to make the sport safer.
