SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Eagles have not lost to the Redskins in 2 years, and this weekend would not be a good time to change that.
This game is basically a must-win for the Birds if they want to keep their playoffs dream alive.
The 'Skins are the worst team in the NFC East. But the Eagles know they are going to have to put recent losses behind them and really show up Saturday to bring home a win.
The Redskins could be dangerous for the Birds. While they aren't playing for a spot in the post-season, they do have a lot to prove.
Head coach Jay Gruden is reportedly coming back for another season, despite many fans calling for his head.
The Eagles defense knows this isn't a game or a team they can take lightly.
"They show up to prove a point, and we might get punched in the face," said Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins.
Meantime, a Dallas loss would help the Birds move back into the Number One slot in the NFC East. They are playing Andrew Luck and the Colts this weekend in Texas.
One man not cheering for the Birds to reclaim that top spot is New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. He's a Cowboys fan and is heading to Dallas to cheer them on Sunday.
Christie is a friend of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. He's taken a lot of heat for his loyalty to the 'Boys. But he hasn't backed down, even calling in to some sports radio shows to defend his allegiance.
The Birds take on the Redskins at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
