PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The sprint that is the NFL season is about to get underway, and needless to say, the Eagles can't wait to get things started.

"I'm very excited. It's week one and we waited a long time after that last game for this to come back around," said Malcom Jenkins.

"Really excited - everyone is ready to rock and roll," said Riley Cooper.

Head coach Chip Kelly heads into this year as prepared as he can be.

To him, building a successful season is akin to building a house.

"You make sure you have enough tools in the tool box so that if you need a Phillip's head screw driver, you use it and if you need a hammer, you have it," said Kelly.

Cary Williams says his coach hit the nail on the head.

"This is a tone setting game. I think that, yea, you don't know what they're going to throw at you. They could throw everything but the kitchen sink," said Williams.

The team says the biggest advantage is the comfort level of having a year of Kelly's system under their belts.

"It's a huge advantage and guys are feeling confident it does work," said Cooper.

Hopefully the proof will be in the pudding on Sunday when the Birds take on the Jaguars.

"It's an opportunity for us to establish our identity and who we want the world to see us as. Other teams can look at us and say, 'Yea that's the Eagles right there," said Williams.
