PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Mark Sanchez plays a volatile position in a volatile industry, but the Eagles quarterback is staying grounded.

"This is a really fun job when you're winning," said Sanchez.

And when you're not - well it's not so much fun around here.

Sanchez is all too familiar with the ups and downs of life as an NFL quarterback thanks to his days in New York.

Now he's doing everything in his power to stay even keel.

"You gotta be like that in life and obviously in this sport and in this profession. It doesn't always work out on Sunday and it didn't last week but we are well past that," said Sanchez.

Sanchez has moved past his four turnovers and that ugly loss in Green Bay.

Even though he has just as many turnovers as touchdowns this season, he's not blaming it on the rust.

Sunday against Tennessee will be just his third start since 2012.

"Whether you've been out of the game for 10 years and you suddenly come back it doesn't matter you gotta take care of the football," said Sanchez.

"He missed an entire year a year ago with the shoulder injury and was out for an entire season. I think for the time we've had him, for half of the Texans game and the two games since then, that he's done a nice job," said Coach Chip Kelly.

Sanchez is so comfortable in Coach Kelly's peddle to the medal hurry up offense.

He is actually running a play every 20.88 seconds which is nearly two seconds faster than when Nick Foles was running the offense.

"You're always competing against yourself and trying to be better and trying to be the best version of yourself for your teammates," said Sanchez.
