Corey Clement ready for NFL Draft

Former Glassboro High School star Corey Clement has thought about the moment many times.

"I've always dreamed about that call. Over the years I've watched all the past NFL Drafts and I just wanted to know what it's going to feel like," Clement said.

Well, he should know less than two weeks from now.

The former Wisconsin running back, who rushed for almost 1,400 yards and 15 touchdowns this past season, is projected as high as a third round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft - which is being held in Philadelphia, if you haven't heard.

He must first convince teams that his injury history, and character concerns, are a thing of the past. A 2015 incident where he punched someone in an elevator still haunts him.

"Everybody makes mistakes once in their life. It's all about being accountable for every situation you've been in and just move on with it. That's not really who I am. That was a test of my character and I matured from it," Clement said.

On Wednesday, Clement will make what will likely be his last stop before the draft - a private meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles. His hometown team is in need of a running back.

"It's hard to control my own destiny at this point. If the Eagles pick me, it will be definitely be cool to play in my backyard and have all the close friends and family be able to travel to the game," Clement said.

But if you think he's an Eagles fan, he was once.

"It was a Terrell Owens thing. He was my favorite player at one point. When he was on the Eagles, I cheered for the Eagles," Clement said.

But when Owens went to the Cowboys, Clement's fandom followed.

So is he a Cowboys fan living in Eagles country?

"I don't want to say that. But yeah," Clement said.
