PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has been trying to perfect his game and the offense in mini-camp.

"I know we can better. I know we can better, we can be sharper. I can be more accurate. We can be more precise," Wentz said.

While they have a lot of work to do before the season starts in September, Wentz likes where their headed, especially when his ball is headed in the direction of Alshon Jeffery.

"His catch radius is unbelievable. So having a guy like that if you know he is covered, if you're just confident, if you're on the same page, you can just give him a chance, and we're continuing to work through that," Wentz said.

As for Alshon's outlook?

"Whatever I can do to help the team win. Whatever it takes. Our goal is to win the division, make it to the playoffs, and make the Super Bowl," Jeffery said.

The next time the Eagles take the field will be for training camp in just over five weeks.

To make sure the offense doesn't lose any progress they made this spring, Wentz plans to bring the receivers and offensive skill players to his home state of North Dakota in July for a week of workouts to further build their chemistry heading into camp.

"Just shows the leadership that Carson has and the rapport he has with the receivers," Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said. "It's exciting as a coach to know your guys are getting together in these next couple of weeks and working on their craft. It means something to them."

And summertime in North Dakota is just fine, according to Wentz.

"Believe it or not there are beautiful summers, so it'll be fun getting together with those guys," Wentz said.

In the matter of one year, Wentz has gone from third string rookie quarterback to team leader.

Now, the next big step is leading the team to the playoffs.
