NFL team owners meet Tuesday amid controversy

NFL team owners are gathering Tuesday, and the national anthem protests are expected to top their agenda.

The goal is to come up with a solution, allowing players to continue protesting racial inequality and injustice without dividing and alienating fans.

The league says it is looking to move on from the issue intensified following the comment from President Trump.

"Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners when somebody disrespects our flag to say 'Get that S.O.B. off the field right now, he's fired," said President Trump.

But not on the owner's guest list today is former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Kaepernick is now challenging the NFL, and accusing the league and all 32 team owners of colluding to keep him off the field.

According to court documents obtained by ABC News. The unsigned free agent quarterback is claiming "Multiple NFL head coaches and general managers stated that they wanted to sign Mr.Kaepernick, only to mysteriously go silent with no explanation and no contract offer made."

Kaepernick believes his refusal to stand during the national anthem last season to protest racial injustice as the reason for his unemployment.

"You're going to have that backlash for trying to fight for people," he said.

Kaepernick played six seasons in the NFL and led his team to the superbowl.

More than 3 dozen quarterbacks have been signed since he became a free agent.
