The Philadelphia Phillies will skip right-hander Aaron Nola's final start before the All-Star break in hopes that the rest will help him "clear his head," according to manager Pete Mackanin.

Nola was scheduled to start on Thursday against the Colorado Rockies, but he said he understands the team's decision.

"I feel like any time you have some time off, it definitely helps," he told reporters, according to CSN Philly. "This is my first full season here, and they want to watch me, but I'm still going to go out and try to throw as many innings as I can and throw as much as I can."

A replacement for Nola on Thursday has not yet been determined.

Nola has struggled in his past five starts, posting a 13.50 ERA, while going 0-4. He didn't make it past the fifth inning in any of those starts. For the season, the 23-year-old is 5-8 with a 4.69 ERA.
