WYNNEFIELD HEIGHTS -- The Sixers introduced their top draft pick Ben Simmons to the City of Brotherly Love Friday.

"It's amazing. I'm excited to be here. I'm trying to get out and go see the people," said Simmons. "I just got here though so I'm looking forward to doing something special."

Simmons added he is looking forward to eating a cheesesteak in the near future.

When asked what the last 24 hours has been like, Simmons told us, "Busy. It's been very, very busy. I didn't get to be with everyone until around 11 or 12.

Jeff Skversky spoke with Ben Simmons after the Philadelphia 76ers selected the LSU freshman with the No. 1 pick Thursday night in the 2016 NBA Draft.

"The draft happens, you got the media, but it's been amazing. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," said Simmons.

There's been a lot of talk that Simmons is going to change the face of the franchise. The last time the Sixers had a No. 1 pick was Allen Iverson, who had a successful career in Philadelphia.

Simmons spoke to us about the pressures that come with being the No. 1 draft pick.

"Some people call it pressure. I usually look at it as if I'm working as hard as I can. That's all I can really ask of myself and my teammates," said Simmons. "As long as we put in the work, you get results from doing that, so I'm looking forward to getting to work."

We asked Simmons what fans can look forward to learning about the rookie and his game and how he plays.

"I just want to win. That's my end goal," said Simmons. "Every game I step into I'm trying to win. I'm not looking for stats, just the W."

People have been describing Simmons as a Lebron James-type player. The Sixers are definitely in need of a point guard, and Simmons says he thinks he can play multiple roles on the court.

"Definitely. I believe I can be a point forward. Somebody who can run the point ball, change into a forward or post up whenever I need to post up," said Simmons. "I'm looking forward to seeing what my role is."

When asked the first thing he plans to do when he moves to Philadelphia, Simmons said, "Cheesestake is one of them. I gotta find my spot. Everyone has their spot they talk about. I gotta do that."
