Suspect sought for armed robbery at cleaning store in Northeast Philadelphia

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are searching for the person responsible for a violent armed robbery in Northeast Philadelphia.

Surveillance video from the September 8 incident shows a man enter a cleaning business on the 6400 block of Oxford Avenue with a large knife.

The 74-year-old employee could not get the cash register open, and that's when the suspect began fighting with her, police say.

Eventually the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
