Suspect wanted in Maryland in custody after Delaware County standoff

DARBY BOROUGH, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police say a suspect who is wanted in Maryland is in custody after a standoff in Darby Borough, Delaware County.

It happened at a residence Saturday afternoon near Ninth and Summit streets.

Police say the suspect was reportedly wanted for a stabbing in Maryland, and then fled to the home where the arrest took place.

The suspect surrendered after police fired tear gas into the residence.

There were no officers hurt during the incident.
