Three people are seriously injured in a crash in Hockessin, Delaware.

HOCKESSIN, Del. (WPVI) -- Three people are seriously injured after a crash in Hockessin, Delaware.

Delaware State Police say two cars collided on Lancaster Pike and McGovern Road around 9 p.m. Monday.

The impact of the crash sent one of the cars off the road and into a nearby fence.

First responders rescued two people inside that car.

A 19-year-old male driver was one of the victims trapped. He was freed by firefighters on the scene using the "jaws of life."

He was treated by paramedics for head and possible internal injuries, before being flown to the Christiana Hospital.

His passenger, a 19-year-old female was treated on the scene for possible head and neck injuries.

One victim in the second car, a 33-year-old male was also injured. He was treated for head, upper and lower extremities, and possible internal injuries.

Those victims were also taken to Chrisitana.

The two male victims are in serious condition. The female is in serious, but stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
