Black ice is being blamed for two separate crashes on I-95 in the Northeast Philadelphia early Saturday morning.

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Black ice is being blamed for two separate crashes on I-95 in the Northeast Philadelphia early Saturday morning.

One crash happened around 4:00 a.m. in the northbound lanes just north of the Cottman Avenue exit.

The other crash occurred about the same time in the southbound lanes.

Police say the overnight freezing of the roads caused the crashes.

PennDOT crews were called to the scene to salt the roadway.

There were no reported injuries in either accident.
