Car slams into tractor trailer on I-95 in Newark

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- A car slammed into the back of a tractor trailer on Interstate 95 in Newark, Delaware.

It happened around 3 a.m. Saturday in the southbound lanes near Churchman's Road.

The car ran under the tractor trailer, trapping the driver inside the car.

Firefighters rescued the driver. That person was taken to Christiana Hospital in critical condition.

No word on why the driver crashed into the big rig.
