LAWRENCE TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Rescuers have responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Lawrence Township, Mercer County.

The crash happened just before 2 p.m. near the Princeton Pike exit.

Police say a heavy-duty tow truck was carrying a construction vehicle on a flatbed trailer when a piece of that construction vehicle struck the underside of Princeton Pike overpass.

The impact caused debris to fly into the air and a piece of that debris struck a passing car, injuring a female driver.

She was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the heavy duty tow truck was not injured.

NJSP have called engineers to assess the damage to the overpass.
