Driver crashes car into tractor-trailer in Northeast Philadelphia

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer in Northeast Philadelphia has left investigators puzzled.

The crash happened around 11:40 p.m. Monday on Interstate-95 between Academy Road and Cottman Avenue.

Police say it appears a driver lost control, spun out, and then wedged the vehicle underneath the side of a tractor-trailer.

The driver managed to rescue himself from the car and then ran off before police arrived.

The truck driver was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
