VIDEO: Pump prices at 6 year high
Prices at the pump remain at a 6 year high this time of year.

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (WPVI) -- By the millions, they're taking to the highways on this July 4th weekend, including on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, where the high gas prices are being tolerated by motorists determined to get away with their families.

"They're cheaper than Canada, so I don't mind paying," Kevin Batemann of Eagleville, Pa. said.

The oil barons this year have an easy scapegoat to blame for the highest Independence Day gas prices on in six years.

"The turmoil in Iraq has driven the prices up because most of what we pay at the pump is from the price of crude oil. Crude oil is a commodity, it's traded on the market, and if investors are concerned about the potential disruption to supply, then the price goes up," Jenny Robinson of AAA Mid-Atlantic said.

But we found a precious few who say the gas prices are too high and they are staying put for this holiday weekend.

"We had planned to maybe go to Longwood Gardens, but we're not going to be doing that today. It's just too pricey," Betty Jean Smith of Coatesville said.
