NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- All lanes are back open after a crash involving an overturned vehicle on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened before 6 a.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes between Academy and Woodhaven roads.

Police tell Action News three vehicles were involved.

After one driver lost control that person's vehicle overturned in the grassy median dividing the north- and southbound lanes of the highway.

There was no immediate word on the extent of injuries.

Northbound traffic was backed up for miles as police responded and shut down the northbound left shoulder and travel lane.

A gaper delay appeared to have formed on the southbound side.

The northbound left lane was shut down for nearly two hours as police investigated and crews righted the overturned vehicle.

The scene was finally cleared by 8 a.m.
