Man killed in crash on I-295 South in Florence Township, N.J.

FLORENCE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a fatal accident on I-295 in Florence Township, Burlington County.

The crash was reported around 5:30 a.m. Monday in the southbound lanes just past exit 52.

New Jersey State Police tell Action News a black Honda Accord went off the road and ended up on its side in a wooded area.

Officers arrived to find a man who had been partially ejected from the car.

The victim was found trapped underneath the vehicle. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

His name was being withheld pending notification of family members.

Police say no one else was in the car at the time of the crash.

The investigation continues.
