Pedestrian struck, killed in Marshallton, Delaware

MARSHALLTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Police in Delaware are investigating a deadly accident involving a pedestrian.

It happened in the 3700 block of Kirkwood Highway in Marshallton just before 9:00 p.m. Thursday.

Police say a 20-year-old man stepped into the path of a vehicle in the eastbound lanes near Duncan Road.

The man was killed instantly.

Police shut down Kirkwood Highway between Farrand Drive and Duncan Road for several hours as they investigated and crews worked to clear the scene.
