SUV slams into utility pole in Westtown, Pa.

WESTTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle crash in Westtown, Chester County.

It happened at 10:45 a.m. Monday in the 1000 block of Wilmington Pike near Oakbourne Road.

Police tell Action News a motorist lost control and struck a utility pole.

Images from Chopper 6 HD over the scene showed a white SUV lying on its side next to a splintered utility pole that appeared to have been snapped off. Part of the wooden pole was lying across the SUV.

The driver survived with non-life-threatening injuries.

A police investigation is underway.
