NEWPORT, Del. (WPVI) -- A crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer shut down the exit ramp from I-95 South to Route 141 (Basin Road) in Newport, Delaware.
The crash happened at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say the big rig was coming off of I-295 at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control.
The truck crossed several southbound lanes of I-95, destroying nearly 100 feet of guard rail before crashing and rolling on its side near the Basin Road exit.
The driver and a passenger in the truck suffered minor injuries.
One male victim refused treatment, and the other, a 46-year-old man, suffered injuries to the shoulder and ankle.
He was treated at the scene, then taken to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.
Police say a motorist approaching the scene on I-95 hit some debris on the highway and also crashed.
That driver received medical treatment at the scene for minor injuries.
The tractor-trailer was removed by 6 a.m.
Meanwhile, the ramp to Route 141 was closed while DelDOT repaired the guardrail. It has since been reopened.
