A bad crash on the Schuylkill Expressway sent two people to the hospital early Saturday morning.

FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- A bad crash on the Schuylkill Expressway sent two people to the hospital early Saturday morning.

The accident occurred around 3:25 a.m. near the Montgomery Avenue exit in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park section.

Two vehicles collided, and one of them reportedly caught on fire.

One person was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital, and the other victim was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital.

So far, no word on their conditions.

Police closed the westbound lanes and detoured traffic onto Girard Avenue to investigate.

All lanes have since reopened near the crash site.
