A nasty head-on crash in Northeast Philadelphia has left a woman critically injured.

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A nasty head-on crash in Northeast Philadelphia has left a woman critically injured.

It happened before 10:30 p.m. Friday along the 9100 block of Academy Road.

Police say a man driving a Pontiac Bonneville slammed head-on into a woman driving a Ford F-150 truck.

Rescue crews had to pull a female passenger from the Pontiac.

She is in critical condition at Aria Torresdale Hospital.

The male driver of the Pontiac was hospitalized with a broken leg and arm.

The woman in the Ford truck was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
